Ms. James is a partner in the Atlanta office. After receiving her Bachelors Degree, cum laude, in Criminal Justice from the University of Georgia, Ms. James then graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law, cum laude, with her J.D. While in law school, she was an active member of the University of Georgia Moot Court Team, a semi-finalist in the Interstate Moot Court competition, and a quarter-finalist in the Russell Moot Court competition. In addition, she was on the editorial board and a notes editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and a pupil in the Chattahoochee Inn of Court. Ms. James was also an intern at the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office where she prosecuted under the Third-Year Practice Act.
In 2014, Ms. James was selected for the Southern Region Lawyers of Color Hot List. In 2015, Ms. James was listed as one of Georgia's Top 40 Under 40 by The National Black Lawyers.
Ms. James has extensive experience in the defense of property owners that find themselves involved in litigation. Ms. James has defended retail stores, hotels, and restaurants in a wide range of cases such as slip/trip and falls, malicious prosecution, and adulterated food allegations. Her experience has led her to success in both the pre-trial motion phase of litigation and at trial.
