Denise L. Dawson is the Managing Partner in the HBS North Palm Beach, Florida office.
Ms. Dawson is a fourth-generation Floridian, and represents clients throughout the state. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Palm Beach Atlantic College, graduating in 1995. She earned her Juris Doctor at St. Thomas University School of Law, graduating in 1998.
She devotes her defense practice to representing individuals and institutions in matters related to medical malpractice, long-term care, products liability, general insurance litigation and maritime law. Her areas of expertise include neonatal medicine, orthopedic surgery, family medicine, medical and surgical oncology, obstetrical medicine, gynecology, pathology, anesthesiology, cardiology, radiology and vascular surgery. She has represented a number of hospital facilities with a broad range of medical issues, including nursing standard of care and medical equipment malfunction. She also routinely represents licensed professionals before their state licensing boards.

Ms. Dawson brings experience in a wide variety of general liability claims ranging from premises liability cases to auto liability cases handling cases from pre-suit investigation through resolution. She has represented business owners, hospitals, retail stores, restaurants, and other owners and occupiers of land in premises liability actions.
Ms. Dawson represents major hospitals, long-term care facilities and other health-care providers on civil and administrative matters. She is available to consult with risk managers and administrative teams on a variety of legal issues and concerns.
Ms. Dawson has handled numerous products liability cases during her 15 years of litigation experience.
Ms. Dawson has been litigating in the health-care field for more than 15 years. She often represents a variety of health-care entities, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, physician practice groups, physicians, physician’s assistants, nurses, therapists and other licensed health-care providers in medical malpractice cases.
Ms. Dawson handles every aspect of the case from inception through the trial and the appellate stages. She acts as counsel to multiple hospitals and health-care systems. She also has experience in catastrophic cases, such as birth trauma. She also routinely represents licensed medical professionals before their state licensing boards.
Ms. Dawson has successfully represented clients in both motor vehicle accidents and incidents involving common carriers. Her transportation experience includes providing opinions on liability, coverage, apportionment among multiple carriers and policies, uninsured/underinsured motorists and level of exposure.
Ms. Dawson has extensive experience defending employers and insurers in workers’ compensation matters. She has defended employers and insurers at all stages of workers’ compensation litigation, from the trial and appellate level to the settlement and mediation level. She focuses on obtaining a swift and favorable resolution to claims, as well as representing her clients’ long-term business interests.
