JD Howard is an associate in the Atlanta office. He attended law school at the University of Georgia on the Hughes-Green Family Scholarship and graduated cum laude. While in law school, he served as Class President for the Class of 2016. He was also a member of the Executive board for the Georgia Journal of International & Comparative Law, serving as Senior Managing Editor for the 44th volume of the Journal. JD worked as a teaching assistant for Dean Lori Ringhand's Constitutional Law class, and worked as a research assistant for Professor Kent Barnett. As a research assistant he helped examine how often agencies prevailed in litigation when applying the Chevron doctrine.
JD received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Tusculum College in Business Administration with Management Accounting and Economics & International Business Concentrations. He won the Warren Lynn Drain award for the top business graduate and the President's Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to Tusculum College's academic excellence, athletic achievement, leadership, and exemplary demonstration of personal character. While at Tusculum, he played baseball for four years, where the team won two regular-season conference championships, one conference tournament championship, and advanced to an NCAA regional twice.
Being born and raised in Perry, Georgia, JD is familiar with life in rural Georgia and hopes to apply that to his agriculture practice. JD was active in the National FFA Organization in high school and was twice named the state champion for the Agricultural Sales Career Development Event.  JD's hands on experience working at a peach and pecan orchard help him relate and understand when representing farmers and agribusinesses.
