Alex Battey is an associate in the Atlanta office. She focuses her practice on the defense of professional and medical malpractice cases. She graduated cum laude from Washington and Lee University in 2006 and received her J.D. cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2011. While in law school she served on the Editorial Board and then as the Senior Articles Editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law.
Ms. Battey originally joined Hall Booth Smith, P.C. in 2011, and she recently returned to the firm after spending three years in Washington, DC practicing complex commercial and toxic tort litigation for a large international law firm.
Ms. Battey has experience defending dentists in matters involving patient consent forms, lease agreements, independent contractor arrangements, landlord tenant issues, as well as all health care related issues encountered in dental practice including liability issues and claims of professional negligence.
Ms. Battey's litigation practice focuses on the defense of medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, hospitals, and others, throughout Georgia. The allegations in the cases she has handled range from negligent treatment and diagnosis to wrongful death.
