Mr. Meyer von Bremen was raised in a family with a construction background. His late father was a professional designer who served as President of the American Institute of Building Designers, and his grandfather was a finish carpenter. The son of a German immigrant who became a naturalized U.S. citizen, half of Michael's family is still in multiple areas of Germany. While he served as a State Senator for Georgia, he was one of five from the United States selected by the Naumann Foundation to participate in a legislative exchange program where he met with political and business leaders on the state and national levels in Germany in 2007, developing friendships which he considers lifelong. He welcomes the opportunity to represent your interests in establishing a business relationship with Georgia, and especially in representing your interests in Georgia's political arena.

Mr. Meyer von Bremen has practiced law in Southwest Georgia and Albany for over 25 years. While Albany is a metropolitan statistical area, it is surrounded by several rural communities, where attorneys are often expected to handle a wide variety of cases. This holds especially true for Michael, as he has handled a tremendous volume of automobile negligence cases, fire loss claims, claims involving defective products, construction defects, liability arising out of contractual disputes, and premises liability claims. He also is most familiar with Southwest Georgia, having represented eight of its counties when he served in the State Senate.
Michael's ability to represent your interests in the Georgia General Assembly will start in 2010, as Georgia's "revolving door" law requires that he wait a year after retirement from the State Senate to serve in Governmental Affairs on the State level. This does not apply on the federal level, and he is accepting new clients for this demanding field. For over a decade, Michael served as a State Senator from the Georgia's 12th District, and personally sponsored or cosponsored over 179 senate bills during his tenure. He served as Chair of the Ethics committee, Minority Leader, and Chair of the Special Judiciary Committee for two terms while he was a minority party member. During this time, he developed strong relationships with members of both the House and Senate, and his deep knowledge of these individuals helps to ensure his ability to best represent his clients.
